Rest Days

It’s important to train hard in order to gain skill and strength in climbing. But it’s equally important to to take rest days. Rest days are fun because they give you time to nurse your aching body, but also because they give you a chance to work on your hobbies, or try new things. So what do I do on my rest days?

Sometimes I knit:

Spiral scarf

Sometimes I bake:

Chocolate chip cookies

I tried rollerskating a few times:

And I even got back into playing violin:

Sometimes I have to just sit, or stretch, or massage my muscles, because my body is too sore to do anything else. There are even days where I go back and forth between sleeping and petting my cats.

Rest days important, so anything you do should be light, different from your main training focus, and most importantly, fun.
