About
I am an NYC native whose climbing journey started about 6 or 7 years ago when I walked into the Cliffs LIC for the first time. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, so my climbing looks a little different from the average climber. I use my arms more because my legs are stiffer and don’t have much strength as the average person’s, which means I have to be way more deliberate about where I’m placing my limbs. That said, I was at my very first National competition just two months after that first day. A few years later I started my path to competing on the international stage, and I’m still going strong! In the last few years, I’ve learned so much about how to train, and in the last year alone I’ve learned how to take that training and transfer it over to my everyday life. Para climbing has taught me that not every day can be perfect, but that doesn’t mean the good days are gone forever. I’ve learned to listen to my body, and react appropriately to what it’s telling me. This recent progress has helped me gain a greater appreciation for climbing both indoors and outdoors.
